Kanifing Minicipal Library

The development of the municipal library was inspired by Lord Mayor, Talib Ahmed Bensouda school days, when he often found himself searching for a quiet place to study after school hours.
Schools often lack library facilities and the instability of electricity means many schools going children study under candles, or even public lights. These difficulties led to the formulation of a vision for establishing a chain of libraries across the municipality. This then becomes part of Councils development agenda under the education pillar
